Customized Curriculum (North Carolina)
Customizing curriculum involves educator reviews of selected student
topics (modules) to evaluate subject matter for appropriate grade and
reading level to meet student needs; length of the instructional period
of the course; regional acceptance of technical examples; and whether
particular criteria and standards are met in the content. Selected modules
are digitally duplicated, bound booklet style (stapled), three-hole drilled
(for insertion into 3-ring binders), and shrunk-wrapped for storage and
shipping. The following customized curriculums were assembled by North
Carolina agricultural education leaders who chose modules to fulfill respective
state standards and meet their agricultural clients’ needs. Inquiries
from state agricultural education leaders regarding similar review of
materials are invited.
