Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)

1 Q Does IMS accept credit card orders?
  A Yes, customers have the option to pay for purchases by check, money order, VISA, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express credit cards. Credit cards are not accepted online at this time. Purchase orders, with proper credit card information, may be completed and faxed to IMS (979) 845-6608. Credit cards may be used for telephone orders. School districts and universities that have procurement cards may purchase resources with credit cards.
2 Q I want to use my personal credit card to purchase materials for my Texas school. Do I have to pay sales tax?
  A Yes. Texas residents who pay for items using their personal credit cards must pay the 8.25% sales tax, even though they are purchasing the items for school use. Out-of-Texas customers do not have to pay sales tax.
3 Q What is the physical shipping address for UPS, FedEx, or other express shipments to IMS?

5 Q Does IMS take telephone orders?
  A Yes, telephone orders may be submitted at (979) 845-6601. If your school or business requires a purchase order prior to placing an order, the customer service associate will expect you to give the p.o. number as you place the order. Telephone orders by individuals are welcome. Preferred payment method by individuals is by approved credit card.
6 Q Are the official Texas course descriptions for career and technology courses listed in your catalog or on your Web site?
  A Approved course descriptions are listed in the Catalog of Career and Technology Courses link available from the Texas Education Agency. PEIMS (identification) numbers, grade placement, credit, and prerequisites are also included.
7 Q Where is IMS located?
  A IMS is located at 7th & Ave C, Building 8236, Riverside Campus, near the intersection of Highway 21 and Hwy 47 west of Bryan, Texas. View map for driving directions.
8 Q I am not able to open the documents coded PDF that are in the IMS Web site. What should I do?
  A The PDF forms on this Web site require Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.05 or above, preferably 5.1 or above. If you do not have the reader installed you can download it free at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep.html If prompted to save or open the document, Acrobat Reader is not properly installed on your machine. If you have Acrobat Reader installed, then when prompted to open or save the file, choose open and select Acrobat Reader from the list of applications if prompted.
9 Q Why was my school charged shipping and handling for the online record book order?
  A The s&h charge is for the electronic administration, set-up of the record books, plus the server space for storage of your books.
10 Q In what time zone is IMS and College Station, Texas located?
  A IMS and College Station are in the Central Standard Time zone. Our business hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm during regular Monday through Friday week days. At other times, please leave a voice mail request for reply by a business associate. Our general e-mail address is ims@tamu.edu.
