Industrial & Manufacturing Systems

Industrial & Manufacturing Systems courses are designed to expose the student to the industrial and manufacturing career field. Emphasis is placed on production, manufacturing, instrumentation, plastics, power technology, quality control, electronic control systems, or physical plant operations.

IMS provides instructional material designed to provide job-specific training for entry-level employment in Quality Control careers in manufacturing. Instruction includes: blueprint reading, science of weights and measures, performing physical testing for tolerance and fit, and compression, hardness, tensile, and shear strength. Section V of the Introduction to Metal Manufacturing Careers forms the basis for instruction.

Lesson plans, student activities, and teacher’s keys to student activities are available.
