Transportation
Service Systems courses are designed to provide a broad understanding
of career opportunities and training requirements and introduce skills in
six transportation-related service careers: aircraft mechanics, auto body
and collision repair, automotive technology, diesel engine mechanics, small
engine repair, and marine engine mechanics. Instruction includes safety
and career opportunities.

Mechanical Services, Marine Engine Repair, and Small Engine Repair.
The curriculum includes guides, lesson plans, student activities, teacher’s
keys, and competency profiles.
The new Automotive
Technology curriculum materials address NATEF/ASE certification standards.
Components include instructor guides, student references, worksheets,
and tests in lesson plan formats. This automotive technology curriculum
supports instruction for Introduction to Transportation Careers, Automotive
Technician, Automotive Specialization, Transportation Service Technician,
Cooperative Education, Job Shadowing, Mentoring, and Apprenticeship Training.
This curriculum represents a cooperative effort between IMS, Texas A&M
University, and IML, University of Missouri. All nine modules of the curriculum
are Tech Prep articulated, NATEF/ASE certified and aligned to the TEKS
and the TAKS.
Videotapes and transparencies are available in all curriculum areas to
enhance the learning experience.
